After studying at the Paris CNSM, where he won eight First Prizes in different fields, Alain Jacquon began a concert career that has lead him around the world.
The winner of several international piano competitions, in 1981 he won a Prize at the international Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud competition. Alain Jacquon has recorded some fifteen CDs devoted mostly to the French music unknown repertoire of the early 20th century. He won the Record Grand Prix of the Charles Cros Academy for his recording of Jean Cras’s concerto, as well as two « “Diapasons d’Or ». A member of the “Family of Artists” of the Newport Music Festival (USA), he is currently director of Lyon’s conservatoire. Passionate about teaching, he gives master classes in the USA, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and teaches at the Lyon Conservatoire. He has created the Fourvière Academy of which he has been the director since 2010.
